Frequently Asked Questions:

1.  What does a professional organizer do?

 

  • I will help you create a functional, well organized home.  The goal is to make your life easier.  Organizing will reduce stress, enhance productivity,  and ensure the space works for you.

​​2.  Do I need to be present during the organizing process?​

 

  • ​It is up to you.  Some clients prefer to be involved in every step and work along side me, while others are comfortable letting me work independently.  The client will need to be available to make decisions and provide daily feedback.

3. I am embarrassed about my space.  Will my session be confidential and do you post pictures?

 

  • No judgment! I assure you I have seen it all and there is nothing to be embarrassed about. I will never post pictures without your consent.  I am bound by the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals Code of Ethics which ensures your privacy.

 

 

4.  Will you get rid of items without my permission or pressure me to part with things?

 

  • No!  My goal is to help you achieve your organizing goals while respecting your belongings and decisions.  I will ask questions and offer ideas, but the decision to keep or discard is yours.

 

 

5.  What happens to items I choose to discard?

  • Each day I leave your house I will fill my car with donations and recycling.  I will give you some choices on where donations may go. 

 

 

6.  Do I need anything before our first session?

​

  • No.  I want to see everything as it is now to see how you are currently using your space.

 

 

7.  Will I have to buy bins and other organizers?

​

  • You do not have to buy anything.  We can use what you have or purchase items if you want.  I provide basic labels with the session and can purchase products for you if you wish.  I do not buy anything until we have decluttered and see what if anything could help organize the space.

8.  What if I need to cancel my appointment?

​

  • I totally understand that things come up.  Please give me as much notice as possible and we can reschedule.
